What is Microblading?

Microblading which is also referred to as semi-permanent makeup, is a manual process of implanting colour pigment in the upper layers of skin to create the appearance of hair like strokes. Manual, sterile blades are used for this technique and because color is implanted just underneath the dermal layer of the skin, the resulting look is soft and fluffy. Microblading may last anywhere from 8 months – 2 years.

What should I do before my procedure?

You may fill in your eyebrows as you normally would so we can take into consideration the shape you desire. If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended to book your appointment three weeks prior to your trip or three weeks after you return.

It is highly advised to avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen. These items will stimulate blood flow which may intern affect your procedure.

Please do not drink any alcohol the night before and day of your appointment and no caffeine the day off your appointment.

If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least six months before considering this procedure.

It is highly recommended that you avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 2 weeks BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. As your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it.

No brow waxing, tinting, microdermabrasion or chemical peels 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

It is recommended to avoid botox or filler around the brow area atleast 4 weeks before your appointment.

How will my brows look after my appointment?

Your brows will begin to darken right after your appointment and will gradually darken for 2 to 3 days after. After 3 days your brows will lighten while going through the healing process. You may peel for a few days as well. It is recommended to not book this service close to a important event as your brows will go through different stages of healing.

What is the aftercare like?

The aftercare of your brows is crucial in determining the outcome of your brows. The better you take care of them, the better the results. Eyelashes

What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions help lengthen and thicken your natural eyelashes. They are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. One lash extension is applied to an individual natural eyelash to create a natural yet fuller look.

How long will it take to apply eyelash extensions and how is it done?

Lashes are applied while you are laying on a comfortable bed with your eyes closed. Your lash nap can take up to 1.5 hours. Once your lashes are cleaned and primed, your bottom lashes are protected with an anti-aging eye pad or medical tape and then lash extensions are applied 1-to-1 to your top lashes with high grade adhesive. The service is non-invasive and relaxing - most clients fall asleep.

How long do eyelash extensions last & how often should I get a touch up?

Eyelash extensions can last up to 6 weeks if proper aftercare is followed. However, lashes are not considered full at 6 weeks, therefore fills are recommended to keep up the look. The extensions will shed with the natural growth cycle of your own lashes. If you choose to get touch-ups in between they will last as long as you continue to fill them in. It is recommended to get a fill every 2 to 4 weeks. If you wait too long and all of your lashes shed then you will require a whole new set.

I'm a bride-to-be or going on vacation, when should I book?

If you've never had eyelash extensions before, it is recommended that you book your first full-set one month prior and your last fill two days prior to your wedding date or departure date. This will allow some time to experiment with different lashes, patterns, learn proper aftercare, and ensure there are no allergies to the product.

Can I apply mascara to eyelash extensions or use lash curlers?

While it is not recommended that you use mascara on your lashes, it is doable only if you use lash extension safe mascara. DO NOT USE OIL-BASED OR WATER-PROOF MASCARA. Waterproof mascara or any type of oil based mascara can dissolve the adhesive bonding agent and shorten the life span of your eyelash extensions. Care also needs to be taken in washing the mascara off. Only use a water based or oil free eye makeup remover. Eyelash curlers however, are NOT recommended as they may break your natural eyelashes and extensions off. You wouldn’t need a lash curler anyway - your lash extensions are pre-curled and will stay that way!

Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing eyelash extensions?

You bet! It is recommended that you do not get your lashes wet during the first 24 hours after your service as the bonding agent in the adhesive needs time to set. After those 24 hours you are free to shower, swim, exercise, etc. however, care is still required.
